Composite resin fillings are the modern standard. They bond directly to the tooth (no metal post needed), match the natural color, and reinforce what's left of the tooth structure rather than wedging it apart like old amalgam.

The procedure is single-visit, 30–60 minutes per tooth. Local anesthesia, decay removal, etching, bonding, layered placement of resin (each 2mm layer light-cured), shape and polish. You eat normally immediately after.

Per-filling pricing: $55 single-surface · $75 two-surface · $95 three-surface · $125 four-surface. US average: $200–$400 per filling.

Materials

3M Filtek Supreme Ultra (US-grade nano-hybrid composite). Bonding agent: Adper Easy Bond. Etch: 35% phosphoric acid gel. All photo-cured with high-intensity LED.

Frequently asked questions

Will it match my tooth color?

Yes. We choose from 16 shades of composite. The fill is invisible in normal light.

How long do they last?

5–10 years for posterior, 10+ years for anterior. Replacement is needed when the bond breaks down or new decay forms at the edge.

Do you remove old amalgam fillings?

Yes. We use rubber dam isolation to avoid mercury exposure during removal, then place a composite. Cost: $95–$125 per filling.

Do they hurt?

Local anesthesia eliminates pain. Mild sensitivity for 24–72 hours afterward is common.

Warranty?

6 months against debonding or fracture.
