Sedation Dentistry Premium
IV conscious sedation for anxious patients or long surgical visits.
For anxious patients or long surgical procedures, we offer IV conscious sedation — the same protocol oral surgery offices in the US use. A licensed anesthesiologist administers midazolam + fentanyl through an IV line. You\'re in a deep, relaxed state, aware enough to follow simple commands but typically remember little or nothing afterward.
Indications: severe dental anxiety, multiple extractions, All-on-4 placement, zygomatic implants, sinus lift, or any case lasting more than 90 minutes. We monitor heart rate, oxygen, and blood pressure throughout.
Pricing: $295 per hour of sedation (most cases 1–3 hours). Required: pre-op fasting (8 hours), companion to drive you back, no driving for 24 hours afterward.
Materials
Licensed anesthesiologist on-site. Midazolam + fentanyl protocol (standard outpatient surgical sedation). Continuous pulse oximetry, ECG, and blood pressure monitoring. Reversal agents (flumazenil, naloxone) on hand.
Frequently asked questions
Will I be unconscious?
No — you'll be deeply relaxed but conscious enough to respond. Most patients have little or no memory of the procedure afterward.
Is it safe?
Yes — performed by a licensed anesthesiologist with continuous monitoring. Same protocol used in US oral surgery offices.
Can I drive home?
No. You need a companion to drive you back to Yuma and you should not drive for 24 hours.
Do I need to fast?
Yes — 8 hours of no food or drink (water OK up to 2 hours before).
Is anesthesia covered by US insurance?
Some PPO plans cover medically necessary sedation. We provide CPT-coded documentation for your claim.
